Jeffery Mowery

Jeff is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Mowery & Schoenfeld. He is committed to building up those around him by creating value for clients and employees of the Firm.

Jeff holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; a Master of Laws in Taxation from DePaul University; and a Juris Doctorate of Law from Loyola University.

Jeff specializes in solving tax and strategic business problems for his clients, with expertise in complex taxation issues for entrepreneurial businesses.

Jeff is an active member in many industry organizations, such as AICPA and Vistage. In 2014, he was elected to the University of Illinois Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Jeff was named Managing Partner Elite by Accounting Today in 2016. He is the North American Regional Chairperson of Geneva Group International (GGI) Tax Practice Group, and was honored as the GGI 2019 Most Innovative Presenter.

When not at work, you might find Jeff enjoying shows with his wife and four adult children, at the gym or traveling.

What is most rewarding about being an accountant?

I really enjoy helping our clients and our people grow and learn. Accounting is very much a people business and to work with our clients and team is very rewarding.

What is your hidden talent?

I won some art competitions in high school and was offered the chance to take more advanced classes. I declined. My award winning art work was put on display at the Ford City Mall.
