Derek joined the Firm’s International Tax Services Team as a Senior Manager in 2022 with over 17 years of experience working in and leading the tax practices of various companies and public accounting firms in Alabama and Texas. He specializes in identifying and managing the foreign tax compliance process for clients in the contracting, manufacturing, distribution, professional service, and finance industries.
A passion for teaching and learning has fueled his involvement in staff development initiatives, starting in college and lasting throughout his career. Derek holds his Master’s degree in accounting and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama.
Derek loves to read and learn. You will likely find him immersed in a new book. He also enjoys swimming and swam competitively in high school.
