Meet Ian

Ian's clients appreciate his work and dedication to saving them tax dollars; whether he's working on a compliance engagement or tax planning, Ian never loses focus of his clients' best financial interest.

In November 2013 Ian joined our tax team and has since focused on gaining experience working on tax engagements for entities and their owners. He specializes in meeting the state and local taxation needs of our business tax clients, especially those in the construction industry.

Ian also spends his time in the office acting as a mentor to our newer tax staff. One of the most important parts of his job is being available to staff as a resource; Ian is always there when they have a technical question or are seeking advice on career decisions.

Outside of work, Ian likes to stay active. Most sports, running, and traveling are among his favorite ways of maintaining his active lifestyle. He also enjoys winding down to a good book.

In your own words, what’s different about Mowery & Schoenfeld?

The people and culture. Everyone here is a professional, but we still find time during the day to have a good time and laugh. We are also a very forward-looking public accounting firm, always investing in new software and tools for our staff.

What is your hidden talent?

This isn't really a hidden talent, but when I was 21, I jumped off the first airplane i was ever on...while it was 14,000 feet above the ground!

What is your philosophy as it relates to your job?

Work very hard and try to do the best that you can. Mistakes will happen, but you have to learn from them.
