Audit Experience with Mowery & Schoenfeld

Danielle Gambini

When I chose to make accounting my career choice, I did not know exactly where that was going to lead me.  In school you take the classes, memorize the facts, and hope that one day all that knowledge will be put to use.  The first year at any firm, your mind is like a sponge, attempting to absorb as much information as possible.  At Mowery and Schoenfeld, I have been surrounded by a group of individuals who work with me and put a great deal of effort into making sure I succeed.

In my first year, I was exposed to a wide variety of engagements.  I was able to work on several compilations, reviews and audits.  Each client that I worked on brought something new and interesting to the table. This exposure to a wide variety of accounting has been both challenging and motivating.  It has helped mold me into a well-rounded employee and individual.

Quickly into my career I was able to take on a unique project with one of our biggest clients.  I worked one-on-one with the client and was able to develop my skills in communication and project management.  Mowery and Schoenfeld has given me the preparation and guidance to take on such large tasks.

The friendships and bonds I have made at Mowery and Schoenfeld are some of the strongest.  The concept of the open door policy is not taken lightly.  There is always a fellow staffer, a manager or partner available and willing to answer questions, give advice, or just chat. This friendship among co-workers is not just one that stays within the walls of the office.  We are always looking for new and fun firm outings to boost morale and strengthen the bonds created.

With each coming busy season I look forward to taking on more responsibilities and using the knowledge instilled in me to teach the new staff members.  I have grown and developed tremendously throughout my time at Mowery and Schoenfeld. I look forward to what comes next and where the firm goes in the future.
