Clear Path for Moving Forward

Associate

Associates occupy entry-level positions within the firm and work closely with Senior Associates and Managers. Their typical client assignments include participation on audit, review, compilation, and tax engagements. An Associate will:

  • Prepare financial statement reports and documentation supporting audit opinions
  • Design and perform tests of internal controls
  • Analyze financial statements; research accounting and tax related issues utilizing electronic databases
  • Apply concepts of risk assessment
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel
  • Prepare partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
  • Participate in recruiting efforts as needed
  • Represent the firm in a manner consistent with our values

Senior Associate

After two to three years and demonstrated ability to exceed baseline competencies, Associates will be promoted to Senior Associates. Senior Associates will be encouraged to have direct client contact and will report to Managers and Senior Managers. A Senior Associate will:

  • Supervise client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits and managing to budgets
  • Review and train Associates on audit processes and assess performance of associates for engagement reviews and perform leadership role as needed
  • Work with engagement team to identify and resolve client issues
  • Maintain a professional relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform audit services
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
  • Participate in recruiting efforts as needed
  • Represent and promote the firm in a manner consistent with our values

Manager

After four to five years, passing of the CPA exam, and demonstrated ability to exceed baseline competencies, Senior Associates will be promoted to Manager. A Manager will:

  • Plan, execute, direct and complete both attest and non-attest engagements in a wide variety of industries and manage those engagements to budget
  • Understand and manage firm risk on engagements and proposals
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and train Senior Associates and Associates, including developing and monitoring the achievement of goals and objectives for engagement performance and overall professional development
  • Coordinate with Partners and Senior Managers on client proposals and business development efforts
  • Manage client expectations concerning deliverables and deadlines in order to ensure satisfaction
  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Regularly attend professional development and continuing education sessions
  • Assess performance of Senior Associates and Associates for mid-year and year-end reviews
  • Actively promote the firm consistent with our values and seek to increase knowledge of the firm

Senior Manager

After seven to eight years and demonstrated ability to exceed baseline competencies of their role, Managers will be promoted to Senior Managers. A Senior Manager will:

  • Plan, execute, direct and complete multiple client service engagements in a wide variety of industries and manage those engagements to budget
  • Understand and manage firm risk on engagements and proposals
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and train Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates, including developing and monitoring the achievement of goals and objectives for engagement performance and overall professional development
  • Coordinate with Partners and Managers on client proposals and business development efforts
  • Use established network of business relationships within to generate new sales opportunities
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations concerning deliverables and deadlines in order to ensure satisfaction
  • Play a key role in the future business generation from existing client base and identify future needs and new business opportunities and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Regularly attend professional development and continuing education sessions
  • Assess performance of Managers, Senior Associates and Associates for mid-year and year-end reviews
  • Actively promote the firm in a manner consistent with our values and seek opportunities to increase firm exposure

Partner

After ten to twelve years and demonstrated ability to outperform the requirements of their role, Senior Managers will be promoted to Partner. A Partner will:

  • Possess deep audit, tax and accounting technical expertise and knowledge in the core practice areas and demonstrate their understanding of tax, business, legal, and economic issues affecting client transactions and other business decisions
  • Manage multiple engagements and advisory activities by interfacing with clients, allocating resources and meeting deadlines
  • Work with clients as their trusted advisor and provide broad and specific information for improving their business
  • Build the skills and capabilities of others in all competency areas by actively promoting teamwork and empowering them to make decisions about their work and to define their own methods of work
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members
  • Participate in professional organizations and use their reputation as an accounting professional to built the client base
  • Actively and consistently pursue cross-selling opportunities and demonstrate a practical, concrete and persistent orientation to the sales process
  • Execute the firm’s strategic plan and direct day-to-day management responsibilities
  • Actively seek to position the Firm in a manner consistent with our values and continually seek opportunities to increase firm exposure
